Silver Spring Stage‘s Annual One-act Festival (Last update: 8/25/10, added 9/25/2008), (2010 one ran from August 19-21 and 26-28 at 8pm, August 22 and 29 at 2pm) – Response to my comment on FB was that they usually begin reading plays for the one-acts after the New Year. They want two copies of the play mailed to Stage at Silver Spring Stage, Attn: One-Acts, 10145 Colesville Road, Silver Spring, MD 20901. Waiting to hear when submission period ends and when notifications are received
Laurel Mill Playhouse One Act Festival 2011-(Added Last updated 8/25/10- (2010 one ran from 9/3/2010 to 9/19/2010) – According to FB correspondence between Maureen Rogers, Organizer, on 7/15/2010, deadline to submit by March 2011 . According to organizer, best one acts are around 30 minutes or less (the guidelines are between 10 and 50 minutes).
NBC’s Stand-up for Diversity (Last update: 8/25/10, added here 9/25/2008, first twittered 9/19/2008) – As of 8/25/2010, next city is San Francisco in September 2010.
One-act comedy festival at Rockville Little Theater (Last Update: 8/25/2010, added 12/15/2009. As far as I know,l ast occurred July 2009. Not sure if there was one in 2010. On 8/25/2010 sent out email asking for more details.
in May, 2009 The 48 Hour Film Project returns to offer anyone the chance to whip up a movie in two days’ time. Found out about in Washington Post.
The Source Festival – added 9/4/2008 – for plays. Ran again on June 20 to July 12, 2009. Has 10 minute plays and one-act plays. Check back in September 2009 for submissions for 2010.
